Imprisoned

Autumn is underway. The weather in this area is, for the most part, still pleasant. There have been nights when the temperature has dropped into the lower 50′s and upper 40′s, but over all the days have been filled with typically beautiful California weather. But, in the blink of an eye winter will be upon us. That means that it’s time for winter preparations.

This is the time of year when many of the small furry creatures in this area begin preparations for the winter months. They are beginning to store food. They are making sure that their burrows and holes are made as cozy and dry as possible. But they aren’t the only ones who are trying to be ready for the winter months.   (more…)

There is a saying about using the right tools for the right job. Take butter knives for example.

September is almost over. Autumn has officially started. The days are getting shorter. The nights are getting longer. The weather is… well it is what it is. The majority of the tourists have gone back to their respective homes. And, the school year is back in session.

Cal Poly University students are busy with the hustle and bustle of life on campus. Each morning they crowd the buses on their way to the university. High school and elementary school students are doing the same. Students are reacquainting themselves with friends from last year. Those who are starting this year at a new school are making new friends.   (more…)

Cause And Effect

Life works by cause and effect: something happens and there is an end result. No matter how small or insignificant the event, it will send out ripples that continue to move outward. That’s just the way it is.

Even in human interaction, there is cause and effect. If you treat someone badly, the odds are very good that they aren’t going to think too highly of you. If you treat someone with respect, the odds are good that you’re going to get respect in return.   (more…)
